The Importance of a genuine Smile.

Updated: Jan 20

Whether on arrival, welcoming a guest, taking an order, serving a drink, clearing a table, or saying goodnight. A warm genuine smile can make all the difference.

Get your staff to practice and perfect a genuine smile and make work a fun environment to encourage that smile further.

Smiling is not only infectious but also helps improve your mood, so start smiling at people and see the difference it makes to your day.

A warm genuine smile and a friendly greeting can go a long way to lift a persons’ mood and enhance the guests experience.

A smile can help diffuse a difficult situation. “Hi, I’m sorry we have messed up, let me fix that for you!” with a warm friendly smile can diffuse a guest complaint and turn a negative into a positive experience.

But don’t fake that smile, a put-on smile can have the opposite effect. You need to be genuine, warm, empathic and positive.

When people smile at you most people smile back and it improves your mood.

And don’t forget that happy people are more likely to leave a tip!

And leave a good review and if they take pictures imagine how much better it will look if it is full of smiling faces!

Imagine your restaurant full of happy smiling faces, I bet that brings a smile to your face!
